You will find the mosaics of Pafos just before the harbour in Kato Pafos.

They incorporate the Houses of Dionysos, Theseus and Aion.

The mosaic floors of these noblemen’s houses, dating back to the 3rd and 5th century AD, are considered to be among the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean. 

The themes of the mosaics depict scenes from Greek mythology.

This fort, down by Kato Pafos harbour, was originally built to protect the harbour.  It was rebuilt by the Lusignans in the 13th century; dismantled by the Venetians in 1570 and then rebuilt by the Ottomans after they captured the island in the 16th century.

Founded at the end of the 12th century by Neophytos, a Cypriot writer and hermit.Saint Neophytos was born in 1134 in Lefkara into a large, poor family.  Since his early childhood he was drawn to the teachings of Christ and leading monastic life.

This small 2nd century Odeon, built entirely of well-hewn limestone blocks, is now used in the summer for musical and theatrical performances.
